Love these humans

So I had another successful day at the nature center. I was able to add numerous friends to my "I LOVE SCOOTER" fan club. They hold me and carry me around. It is wonderful. I hardly need to worry about touching the cold ground. Those ducks are still being pesky and hiding in the pond but their day will come.

What Wacky Weather!

Well yesterday I enjoyed 78 degrees as I roamed the grounds at the nature center taking care of the quail and keeping the ducks in line. Today it is snowing!!!! As I watch from my warm closet I just can't believe it! What is a rooster to do? I must admit I am chuckling that the ducks are outside. However, the way they put the food down I am sure they will not have any problems with this ridiculous weather. Hopefully the sun will be out tomorrow. I love the way my feathers shine!

Spoiled Rotten

Yup - I AM!!

Today I entertained a group of 30 or so grown-ups. I had them in the palm of my hand (wing). Their meeting was boring but I enjoyed laying on the tables with the miniature pumpkins that were being used for decoration. I was a much better decoration for the tables! Mary Anne spent 30 minutes looking for me on the grounds of the nature center. Silly woman! Somebody had to entertain the guests and save them from their boring board of directors meeting! Oh - here is a picture of me with the ducklings. In addition to taking care of the 2 quail and 4 pigeons, now they want me to teach these ducklings the ropes. I am a very busy rooster!

What a storm!

Well I still don't have power in the closet. This hurricane was a big pain!
They moved the quail I was taking care of so now I only get to visit them when I am roaming the grounds of the nature center. I have also discovered how much I like Mac and Cheese. This stuff is great! The weather is beautiful and I am looking really handsome! Bring on the hens!

Bug hunting in the garden!

Rooster Days of Summer

It is hot here in Houston! Days are spent scratching for bugs and watching my new companions. Two young Bobwhite Quail have arrived. They seem to think of me as their guardian or uncle. I kinda like being "Uncle Scooter" to these little ones. I let them know who is in charge each morning after I emerge from my "closet". They are easy going and entertaining to watch. I will post pictures next week. We had several kids at the nature center this week so I was taken on lots of "Scooter Walks". Of course I am the one walking/running these people around. They tire so easily. Well, that is all for now. Keep crowing!
