Spring "Break"?

Um, I thought they call this week "Spring Break". I was expecting peace and quiet around my domain. But no, these are crazy times. Every day there seems to be an unusual arrival of folks who are busy checking out my kingdom and changing my territory. Today there was a large number of what they call "boy scouts" all being directed by someone named "Ben". They were all over the place digging, dragging, trimming, pounding. It was insufferable! At one point they thought they could chase me but I am way to fast for that silly game. I am so busy caring for the quail and dealing with the ducks that I really don't have time for these people. I am very stressed. Luckily a nice family stopped by and gave me some gold fish crackers. I love that! Anyhow, it appears there is much work going on at the nature center. I will tolerate it for a while but I do expect a "break" this spring!

I miss my friend Jadan. I haven't seen him in a while and to top things off it is raining! Oh well, at least I am snug and warm in my closet. I will need to check on the quail first thing tomorrow morning. I don't think they like the rain very much.

Spring Thoughts

Well things have become quite irritating even with the wonderful weather! First, where is the rain? I just get covered in dust when I am scratching for bugs. I need to keep up my appearance for the ladies! On another irritating front, those two web footed creatures have grown quite a bit and now they think they are in charge. The white one tries to grab me and chase me around. I am pretending to tolerate their bad behavior. But just wait! I think the other one has been busy laying eggs and that is why the white one is in such a bad mood. I would be upset if my mate laid 16 eggs! I mean who is going to raise that brood? What are they thinking? In addition to that craziness there is an irritating new bird in the yard. It is swooping and chirping all over the place. I believe they are calling it a Purple Martin. How irritating. All that chirping needs to stop. I heard something about a long distance journey from Brazil. Can't they just stay in one place? Why come here and bug me? UGH!
